Registered Nurse - Village Nurse

Medwell Northmed is looking for a caring, professional, and motivated Registered Nurse (Village Nurse) to join our Retirement Village team. This role is ideal for a nurse who enjoys preventative healthcare, resident wellness, and building meaningful relationships with older persons in an independent living environment.

Location: Northriding, Randburg

Minimum Requirements

• Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse with 3 years of experience
• Experience in primary healthcare, community health, retirement villages, or geriatric nursing will be advantageous.
• Excellent clinical assessment, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide community healthcare services, including routine clinics and wellness assessments for Retirement Village residents.
• Respond to and assist with medical emergencies within the Retirement Village.
• Conduct health assessments for prospective residents and perform ongoing resident re-evaluations.
• Coordinate and assist with health education and wellness talks for residents.
• Liaise with residents, families, doctors, and other healthcare professionals when required.
• Identify residents who may benefit from home-based care services.
• Supervise and support the Home-Based Care team.
• Manage resident medication where required.
• Maintain accurate nursing records and ensure compliance with professional nursing standards.
• Perform any other lawful duties relevant to the position.

Rate: R133.60 per hour

Work hours:

Week 1: 07:00 – 16:00

Week 2: 08:00 – 17:00

Split (7/3) Monday to Sunday rotation

Monday & Tuesday: Off

Wednesday to Friday: Work

Weekend: Off
