Pool Nurses – Advanced Wound Care Services

WoundNet is expanding its nursing pool and is looking for compassionate, skilled, and reliable Registered Nurses to support our growing outpatient and community-based wound care services.

We are seeking qualified nurses available to provide high-quality wound care to patients across Milnerton, Bellville, Stellenbosch, and surrounding areas.

This is a flexible, per-service / per-patient opportunity, ideal for nurses who are interested in joining a professional wound care network and working according to their availability. Remuneration will be based on a stratified payment structure, taking into account the service area, travel requirements, case complexity, and type of intervention provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, safe, and evidence-based nursing care to patients with acute and chronic wounds.
• Conduct comprehensive wound assessments, including wound measurements, tissue evaluation, exudate assessment, and identification of factors affecting healing.
• Perform wound dressings and prescribed wound care interventions according to clinical protocols and patient-specific care plans.
• Support and participate in individualized wound care planning in collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Educate patients, family members, and caregivers on wound care, self-management, prevention, and strategies to promote optimal healing.
• Monitor wound progress, identify changes or potential complications, and escalate clinical concerns when required.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation in accordance with WoundNet procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Represent WoundNet professionally while delivering care in outpatient, home-based, and community settings.

Minimum Requirements

• Registered Nurse qualification.
• Active and current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) – mandatory.
• Previous experience in wound care is advantageous but not essential.
• A strong interest in wound care and willingness to participate in WoundNet training and clinical development.
• Excellent clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centred approach.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
• Reliable transport and the ability to travel within the designated service areas are highly advantageous.
• Proficiency in English is required.
