• Diploma or higher qualification in Nursing.
• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience.
• Must be registered with the Lesotho Nursing Council.
• Valid professional registration and authorisation to practise.

Job Description The Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care to clients in their homes and community settings. The nurse will assess patients, develop and implement appropriate care plans, monitor health conditions, provide wound care, provide antenatal and maternal health services within the professional scope of practice, educate families, and coordinate care with other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments.
• Monitor and record vital signs.
• Provide wound dressing and wound management.
• Provide post-operative and post-discharge care.
• Provide antenatal clinic services, including antenatal assessments, routine maternal observations, health education, counselling, and appropriate referral of high-risk pregnancies, within the professional scope of practice and applicable guidelines.
• Provide postnatal support and maternal health education within the professional scope of practice.
• Administer medications within the professional scope of practice and applicable regulations.
• Monitor patients with chronic conditions.
• Provide health education to patients and families.
• Assist elderly and vulnerable clients with healthcare needs.
• Develop and update individual patient care plans.
• Identify changes in a patient’s condition and arrange appropriate referrals.
• Maintain accurate nursing and patient records.
• Communicate with doctors and other healthcare professionals when required.
• Provide compassionate and respectful patient care.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Supervise and guide healthcare assistants or caregivers where appropriate.
