Job description
Plan and implement OHS policies and programs
Advise and lead employees on various safety related topics
Review existing procedures and policies
Adhere to all rules and regulations
Work with HR to set up a new employee on boarding process for safety
Conduct risk assessment
Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes
Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention
measures
Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics
Check if all the employees are acting in adherence with rules and regulations
Implementing environmental policies and practices
Provide environmental training to staff at all levels
Keeping up to date with relevant changes in environmental legislation and initiatives
Assessing, analyzing and collecting environmental performance data and reporting information to internal staff, client and regulatory bodies
Ensuring compliance with environmental legislation
Conducting PTO, calculating man hours send monthly reports to EHS Manager
Audit subcontractors ensure all employees are medical fit
Job Type: Contract
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Johannesburg, Gauteng 2054: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
Education:
- Diploma (Preferred)
Experience:
- Safety Officer: 5 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- SACPCMP Registration (Preferred)
- Code 10 (Preferred)
