Job description
1. Position Overview
We are seeking professional, well‑presented individuals to support event operations as Registration Desk Staff and Usher Assistants. These roles form part of the frontline event team responsible for delivering a seamless, efficient, and welcoming experience for delegates and guests. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work confidently in fast‑paced environments.
2. Key Responsibilities
Registration Desk Duties
- Welcome and accurately check in delegates using registration software and scanning devices.
- Distribute badges, lanyards, and event materials efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional registration area.
- Assist delegates with queries and escalate unresolved issues to the Site Manager.
Usher Assistant
- Welcome delegates and provide clear directions to session rooms and facilities.
- Support seating arrangements, audience flow, and crowd management.
- Monitor delegate movement and report irregularities or safety concerns immediately.
- Assist registration or access control teams when required.
- Return all event materials (radios, badges, signage) at the end of the shift.
3. Professional Conduct & Appearance
- Full event uniform and name badge must be worn at all times.
- Grooming must be neat, clean, and suitable for a corporate environment.
- Personal phone use is prohibited while on duty (except for emergencies).
- Communication with delegates and colleagues must be courteous, clear, and professional.
- Staff must adhere strictly to event schedules and instructions from supervisors.
4. Skills & Requirements
- Must have basic computer experience (registration systems, scanning devices, check‑in software).
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and attentive in high‑traffic environments.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions precisely.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to follow instructions and event protocols.
- Previous experience in events, hospitality, or front-of-house roles is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on event schedules.
