Remote UK B2B Advertising Sales Executive

Self-Employed Contractor | Magazine & Online Directory Sales

South Africa-Based | Part-Time | Approx. 20 Hours Per Week

We are looking for an experienced, professional UK B2B advertising sales executive based in South Africa to help with the launch of a new UK home, interiors and property magazine.

This is a self-employed contractor role, initially for approx. 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, working during UK business hours.

The role has strong long-term potential. As the magazine grows and expands into other areas, there may be an opportunity to increase hours and earnings.

About The Role

We are launching Local Homes Magazine, a premium home, interiors and property publication aimed at homeowners and local businesses in the Bolton area of the UK.

Alongside the printed magazine, we are also building an online business directory. Many businesses will already have a listing created for them, and your first call will often be to check their details are correct.

This is a sales role, not just appointment setting.

You will be expected to:

  • Speak with UK business owners
  • Check and update directory listing details
  • Identify the correct decision-maker
  • Introduce the Local Homes Magazine launch
  • Explain the free directory upgrade offer
  • Send media packs where appropriate
  • Follow up professionally
  • Sell magazine and directory advertising over the phone
  • Book appointments only for larger premium opportunities where needed

Most smaller bookings should be handled and closed over the phone. Larger prospects may be passed to the publisher for a follow-up appointment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Make outbound calls to UK local businesses
  • Build rapport quickly with business owners and managers
  • Check business directory listing details
  • Confirm names, emails and mobile numbers
  • Explain magazine and directory advertising options
  • Send media packs and follow-up emails
  • Follow up leads consistently
  • Close smaller advertising bookings over the phone
  • Book qualified appointments for larger-value prospects
  • Keep accurate notes in the CRM/sales system
  • Report daily activity, outcomes and opportunities

What We Are Looking For

You must have experience in:

  • UK B2B outbound telesales
  • Selling over the phone
  • Speaking with small business owners
  • Handling objections
  • Following up prospects
  • Working to sales targets
  • Using a CRM or sales tracking system
  • Sending professional follow-up emails

Experience in any of the following would be a strong advantage:

  • Magazine advertising sales
  • Media sales
  • Online directory sales
  • Local business marketing
  • Print advertising
  • Digital advertising
  • Selling to trades, home improvement, property or service-based businesses

The Right Person Will Be

We are not looking for someone who simply reads a script. We need someone who can have proper business conversations and represent the magazine professionally.

Essential Requirements

You must have:

  • Your own laptop or desktop computer
  • A smartphone
  • A stable, reliable internet connection
  • A quiet working space
  • Availability during UK business hours
  • Previous UK B2B outbound sales experience
  • Clear, fluent spoken English
  • Confidence using email, CRM systems and online tools

We will provide access to the VoIP/calling system and sales systems needed for the role.

Contract Type

This is a self-employed / independent contractor role.

You will work remotely from South Africa and be responsible for your own tax, equipment, internet connection and working setup.

We will provide access to:

  • VoIP/calling system
  • Sales information
  • Media pack
  • CRM/sales system
  • Call scripts and follow-up templates

Work will be carried out to an agreed weekly schedule during UK business hours.

Hours

  • Approx. 20 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday
  • Flexible working times during UK business hours
  • Initial trial period, with the opportunity to continue and grow

Pay

Starting pay is in the region of:

R12,500 per month

There will also be performance-based earning opportunities, including:

  • Individual sales bonuses
  • Residual bonuses
  • Team bonuses
  • Increased hours as the business grows

Bonuses will be based on agreed targets, including sales closed, quality opportunities created and larger appointments booked where appropriate.

  • Create interest in Local Homes Magazine
  • Sell smaller magazine and directory packages over the phone
  • Follow up properly until a decision is made

  • Keep accurate notes and next actions
  • Represent the business in a professional way
