About the Role

We're looking for a mid-level Reporting Accountant to join our Finance team in Johannesburg. This role suits someone who has completed their articles and is looking to build on a strong foundation in financial reporting, budget analysis, and management accounting. Reporting to the Group Reporting Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of Alliance Media's financial reporting across the group providing insight that drives sound business decisions.

What You'll Do

• Prepare timely, accurate financial statements in line with IFRS, including monthly results and variance commentary this is a strongly reporting-focused role
• Maintain the general ledger, ensuring transactions are correctly treated per group accounting policies
• Lead budget analysis assist in preparing annual budgets, monthly profitability forecasting, and assessing the effectiveness of spend
• Manage overhead budget reporting, cost centre allocations, and expenditure analysis
• Apply strong management accounting principles to provide insight and commentary that supports decision-making across the business
• Review and maintain inter-company balances and the Fixed Asset register
• Oversee capital asset acquisition, capitalisation, amortisation, and disposal
• Drive system improvements, working closely with the Head of Reporting on ERP (Sage X3) enhancements and Balance Sheet module integration
• Partner with Accounts Payable, Treasury, and Accounts Receivable teams to support broader finance operations
• Contribute to ad hoc projects for the Line Manager and CFO

What You'll Bring

• A relevant Accounting degree, having completed articles (SAICA/SAIPA or equivalent)
• Solid, hands-on experience in financial reporting, budget analysis, and management accounting this is a mid-level role, not entry-level
• Strong working knowledge of Sage X3 and a solid understanding of ERP systems in a reporting context
• Advanced Excel skills, including formulae
• Proven experience in management reporting
• Fixed asset management experience is an advantage
• A deadline-driven mindset with strong prioritisation and organisational skills
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Clear, articulate communication skills
