Job description
Job Purpose
To support the accurate and timely preparation of consolidated and company financial statements in compliance with IRFS, assist in audit coordination and contribute to financial reporting, budgeting and tax compliance processes.
Key Performance Areas
- Preparing consolidated and company financial statements in compliance with IFRS requirements
- Assisting with reviewing subsidiary financial statements
- Assist with collating information for the preparation of income tax and provisional tax computations including reviewing foreign subsidiary tax calculations and ensuring timeous submission of related returns.
- Collating information for subsidiary VAT and statutory return submissions.
- Accurately preparing and processing all monthly journals and standard journals as and when required
- Preparation of loan amortization schedules as well as IFRS-related calculations as and when required.
Preparation of monthly analysis reports for management as and when required.
- Assist with the budgeting process.
- Assist with month-end reporting.
- Assist with coordinating year-end audits and compiling information required for audits.
- Perform any other tasks that may from time to time be assigned.
- Adhere to the health, hygiene and safety regulations and maintain a safe and tidy work environment.
Minimum Skills and Knowledge Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Tax / Finance (NQF6 /7) / equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years’ experience in a similar position and/or environment
- SAICA/SAIPA articles will be advantageous
- Strong IFRS and tax knowledge
- Group reporting and consolidation of multicurrency entities’ experience.
- Experience in dealing with corporate, indirect and payroll tax matters including preparation/review of tax calculations and return submissions. Foreign tax experience will be advantageous.
- Computer literacy, including MS Office with proficiency in Excel
- Syspro and CaseWare experience are essential
