Lighthouse Finance is a boutique accounting, tax, and advisory firm based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, founded in 2016 by two globally experienced Chartered Accountants. The firm offers a one-stop-shop service to clients, ranging from straightforward tax returns to complex virtual CFO solutions. Lighthouse Finance provides access to world-class expertise typically associated with larger brand-name accounting firms, but at a scale and cost suitable for smaller and mid-sized organisations. The team focuses on keeping clients’ back-office operations highly efficient and compliant, allowing clients to concentrate on their core activities such as creating, selling, and building relationships.
Role Description
The role is based at our office in Hillcrest, Durban, and is a full time role. You will be responsible for:
- Annual reporting for our clients in SA, the Netherlands and the UK. This means drafting financial statements, including group consolidations
- Managing the annual corporate tax process for our SA, Dutch and UK clients.
- Managing ad-hoc projects which generally include new client set-ups (charts of accounts and tax rates), historical accounting clean-ups and catch-ups, and supporting our clients through external audits
Qualifications
- You must have a relevant tertiary qualification (BCom, BAcc, BCompt, etc)
- You must have completed SAICA or SAIPA articles plus no more than two years post-articles experience
- This is a technical accounting and tax role - some affinity with the more technical side of the profession is required
- Experience in using Caseware is a plus
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Proactivity is a must
- The role will entail overtime during busier reporting periods. You must be willing to work overtime.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
What We're Offering
For this role the salary range is pegged at R20,000 to R25,000 per month. In addition to that, we offer medical aid contribution reimbursements, and two bonus rounds per year (June and December). Overtime is compensated on a one-for-one time-off-in-lieu basis.
Start date asap; ideally before October 2026.
There is no need to have Dutch or UK experience; training will be provided. Please note that references will be checked.
