Job description

The main purpose of the position is to assist the Project Manager in the recruitment of participants and to provide a supportive role in research study-related tasks. The role participates in the design and administration of the data collection tools. Responsible for the efficient collection of accurate, complete and ethical data from study volunteers. Adherence to protocol and overall study objectives.

Technical Work Responsibilities

  • Administrative duties.
  • Report writing.
  • Screen hospital admissions and identify eligible study participants.
  • Recruitment, counselling and retention of volunteers.
  • Data collection and electronic data capturing.
  • Administrative duties.
  • Report writing.
  • Strategy recommendations based on process evaluation findings.
  • Extract clinical and laboratory data from patient medical records.
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and timely entry into study databases.

Education

  • Grade 12/Matric.
  • Valid GCP certificate.

Advantageous

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • HIV/TB training.
  • Research and GCP.
  • Experience working in a hospital environment.
  • Experience with electronic data capture systems.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in clinical research, data collection, or healthcare settings.
  • Public Sector experience in HIV counselling and testing, prevention, care and treatment.
  • Experience in HIV/TB prevention and treatment.
  • Experience in community education.
  • Research methodologies including both qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Participant recruitment and retention strategies.

Requirements

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Computer and programming skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
