POSITION INFO: Main purpose of the job: To provide best practice, data collection, clinical assessments, collection of specimens(cord and maternal blood) according to different study protocols To ensure that this is done with accordance to site Standard Operating Procedures Location: 7 Esselen Street, Hillbrow, Johannesburg (CMJAH) Key performance areas: Inform participants about the study Verify consent status prior to conducting any study procedures Draw blood, cord blood from participants and maternal serum samples, process samples as required and specified within the protocol and laboratory manuals and send samples\/specimens to laboratory OR ensure they are properly stored Biological sample collection as per study requirement other than blood samples, if applicable Obtain vital signs and other special investigations as per study guidance Conduct pre and post HIV and Hepatitis B Test Counselling (if needed) Provide appropriate health education and counselling where necessary Communicate participant management to site based staff in a timely manner adhering to ALOCOA principles Perform tasks based on the protocol training provided and take accountability for self-training and documentation of this training Collect participant data from medical notes and complete source document Document necessary procedures, sample collection and data collection details in relevant source documents adhering to GCP principles Completion of source documents accurately and in a timely manner Maintain full clinical records for all participants Maintain an adequate inventory of laboratory samples (both electronic and hard copy, as required) Perform sample related activities such as but not limited to labelling, storage, collection, storing and completion of DCF's Compile relevant reports and feedback on all activities Quality control study documents Good administrative skills together with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Report on Protocol Deviations that occurred on different studies Perform task based on the protocol training provided and take accountability and document of this training Required minimum education and training: Diploma in General Nursing (3 years) A valid driver's license Required minimum work experience: Minimum 1 year Nursing Experience in HIV Research Experience would be advantageous Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities: Empathetic with good communication and interpersonal skills Working experience with maternal and pediatric participants will be an advantage Ordered and systematic with strict compliance to protocols Be tactful, respectful and maintain confidentiality Good administrative skills together with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Share Point Able to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Sound work ethic and good self-management skills TO APPLY: Only if you meet the minimum job requirements and experience as mentioned above, you may submit a detailed updated CV and a cover letter (maximum one page) Please Apply Online and complete your registration via our website to enable and protect you as a candidate, and to accept the new POPIA terms and conditions This will then create your permanent profile with which you can apply for all jobs as advertised by AJ PERSONNEL However, you may remove your profile from AJ PERSONNEL when you are no longer in the job market Please take note that the applicants who do not adhere to the above criteria will not be considered for the respective position Wits Health Consortium will only respond to shortlisted candidates Candidates who have not been contacted within two weeks of the closing date can consider their applications to be unsuccessful Closing date: 29 June 2026 Note: No CV will be accepted after the closing date Please note: WHC, in accordance with its Employment Equity goals and plan, will give preference to suitable applicants from designated groups as defined in the Employment Equity Act 55 of 1998 and subsequent amendments thereto AJ Personnel is only responsible for advertising and the response handling on behalf of their client Wits Health Consortium AJ Personnel does not have any salary or other information regarding the position
