Job description
Purpose of the Job
The Reservations & Revenue Agent will oversee booking operations, optimize pricing strategies, and maximize occupancy across a portfolio of Airbnb properties. This role requires a blend of analytical skills, hospitality expertise, and customer service excellence to ensure profitability and guest satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reservation management
Handle all booking inquiries, confirmations, cancellations, and modifications across multiple Airbnb listings.
Revenue optimization
Develop and implement dynamic pricing strategies using market data, seasonal trends, and competitor analysis to maximize revenue.
Occupancy monitoring
Track occupancy rates and adjust availability calendars to ensure optimal performance.
Guest communication
Provide timely, professional responses to guest inquiries and resolve issues to maintain high review scores.
Market analysis
Research local market conditions, demand patterns, and competitor listings to inform pricing and promotional decisions.
Reporting
Prepare regular performance reports on revenue, occupancy, and booking trends for property owners.
Team collaboration
Work closely with property managers, cleaners, and maintenance staff to ensure seamless guest experiences.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· Matric (Grade 12).
· South African citizen only.
· Diploma in Hospitality Management advantageous.
· Minimum of 3 years reservationist experience.
· Proficiency in hotel reservation software (Nightsbridge).
SKILLS REQUIRED
Hospitality experience: Background in hotel, Airbnb, or vacation rental management preferred.
Analytical ability: Strong skills in data analysis, forecasting, and revenue management tools.
Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication for guest interactions and owner reporting.
Tech proficiency: Familiarity with Airbnb platform, property management systems, and dynamic pricing software.
Problem-solving: Ability to resolve guest issues quickly while protecting revenue and reputation.
Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to seasonal demand and handle urgent booking or guest needs.
Ability to handle high call volumes and emails efficiently.
Sales Techniques - Knowledge of upselling and cross-selling — e.g., offering room upgrades, packages, or dining options to increase revenue.
Data Accuracy - Precision in entering guest details, dates, and payment information to avoid costly errors.
Cultural Awareness - Sensitivity to diverse guest backgrounds, languages, and expectations.
Problem-Solving - Ability to handle overbookings, last-minute cancellations, and special requests calmly and effectively.
