Career Growth Hospitality Recruitment is looking for an experienced Reservations Supervisor to join a busy 4- or 5-star hotel in Cape Town.
This role is ideal for a hands-on reservations professional with strong leadership skills, excellent attention to detail and experience working in a high-volume hotel environment. The successful candidate will support the Reservations Manager in overseeing daily operations, developing the reservations team and ensuring a professional and efficient booking experience for every guest.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the daily operation of the Reservations Department
- Support the Reservations Manager in achieving occupancy, revenue and service targets
- Coach, mentor and develop the reservations team
- Ensure telephone, email and online enquiries are handled promptly and accurately
- Oversee booking confirmations and maintain accurate reservation information
- Assist with compiling and generating daily reports
- Respond professionally to guest enquiries and resolve concerns efficiently
- Monitor service standards, operational procedures and quality control
- Build strong working relationships with internal departments and key stakeholders
- Work closely with Front Office, Sales and Marketing to ensure a personalised guest journey from booking through to check-out
- Assist with managing the department in the absence of the Reservations Manager
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, hotel procedures and best practices
Requirements:
- A hospitality qualification would be advantageous
- At least 2 years’ experience as a Reservations Supervisor within a 4- or 5-star hotel environment
- Experience working in a high-volume reservations and revenue-conversion environment
- Strong leadership, coaching and team-development skills
- Proficiency in Opera or a similar Property Management System
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong administrative, planning and organisational abilities
- Excellent telephone, email and interpersonal communication skills
- A good understanding of market trends, pricing and revenue opportunities
- Excellent attention to detail and operational discipline
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple requests in a fast-paced environment
- Confident in handling challenging situations and resolving conflict professionally
- Professional, positive and guest-focused approach
- Flexibility to work according to operational requirements
