Job description
Job Function
To manage business compliance with the relevant regulations and to manage the operational requirements as described in the relevant business procedures, in accordance with the Pharmacy Act 53 of 1974 and the Medicines and Related Substances Act 101 of 1965.
Key performance areas:
- Responsibility in terms of Relevant Acts.
- Ensure business operation conducted under direct personal supervision.
- Take corrective measures in respect of deficiencies with regards to inspection reports of the Pharmacy Council or in terms of SAHPRA.
- Ensure that registrations, recordings, and licenses are current and in place (DOH/SAPC/SAHPRA/ISO).
- Reply on Audit reports from SAPC/SAHPRA/DOH.
- Ensure to supervise every pharmacist appointed by the owner of the pharmacy business.
- Report in writing any non-compliance with the Pharmacy Act to the management of such pharmacy business and furnish Pharmacy Council with a copy.
Qualifications required:
- Minimum tertiary qualification (B.Pharm, B.Sc. Pharm).
- Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council.
Skills and experience required:
- Minimum 5 Years in a similar environment with related knowledge and / or skill.
- Working knowledge of the Pharmacy and Medicines and Related Substances Control Acts.
- Knowledge of Good Wholesale/Distribution Practices in South African.
