Responsible Pharmacist

Job purpose

The Responsible Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring that the company operates in full compliance with all applicable pharmaceutical, medical device, quality, pharmacovigilance, vigilance, regulatory, ethical marketing and licensing requirements.

In this strategic position, you will serve as the company's:

• Responsible Pharmacist
• Local Responsible Person for Pharmacovigilance (LRPPV)
• Medical Device Vigilance Lead
• ISO 13485 Management Representative
• Compliance Officer for ethical marketing and business practices

What you'll be responsible for:

• Leading pharmaceutical and medical device compliance activities
• Overseeing quality management systems (GMP, GDP, GVP, GWP & ISO 13485)
• Managing pharmacovigilance and medical device vigilance programs
• Supporting regulatory inspections, audits, product recalls, and authority interactions
• Ensuring supplier, distributor, and third-party compliance across the region
• Providing leadership to quality and regulatory affairs resources
• Driving a strong culture of quality, compliance, and patient safety

What we're looking for:

✔ Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) and SAPC registration

✔ Eligibility to act as a Responsible Pharmacist in South Africa

✔ 7-10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry

✔ Strong expertise in quality systems, regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, and compliance

✔ Experience engaging with health authorities and leading inspections and audits
