Ou Meul Bakery & Café is bringing our bakery, café and community spirit to George - and we're looking for an experienced General Manager to take full ownership of the new store from opening day.

About The Role
As General Manager, you'll carry full accountability for the George store - leading both front-of-house and back-of-house (bakery/kitchen) teams, driving sales and profitability, and building Ou Meul's presence in the George community from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Full P&L accountability for the store
- Lead and align the Restaurant Manager and BOH/Bakery Manager and their teams
- Set sales targets and drive overall store performance
- Oversee stock control, ordering and supplier relationships store-wide
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene and labour regulations
- Manage recruitment, training and development of all store staff
- Represent Ou Meul in the local George community, building relationships and driving footfall
- Report store performance to Head Office / the Ops team
Requirements
- Proven experience as a General Manager or senior manager in retail/hospitality/QSR
- Strong financial acumen — budgeting, P&L, cost control
- Excellent leadership skills across multi-department teams
- Experience opening or scaling a new store advantageous
- Matric plus a relevant management qualification advantageous
- Own transport and valid driver's license
- Available for retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
