We are looking for a qualified and experienced hairdresser to join our team as a Retail Business Consultant for the Gauteng region.

About the role

We are looking for a Retail Business Consultant to join our team, supporting salon customers across the Johannesburg/Inland Region.

This role combines professional product education with a strong commercial and retail focus. Working closely with our Sales team and salon customers, you will help grow the retail potential of our professional haircare brands through education, product knowledge, promotions, merchandising and ongoing customer development.

To be considered, you must be a certified hairdresser with a Trade Test and have at least three years' experience as a qualified Hairdresser/Stylist.

What you'll be doing

• Deliver engaging product and product-related training to salon professionals through in-salon visits, studio sessions, virtual training and social media.
• Train Sales Consultants on new and existing products and provide ongoing product and technical advice.
• Work closely with the Sales team to support cycle promotions, product launches and other sales initiatives.
• Assist in developing salon promotional programmes designed to increase product awareness, retail sell-through and achievement of sales objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with salon owners and stylists.
• Provide professional product advice and technical support to salon customers.
• Assist with resolving product-related queries, complaints and problems.
• Conduct product demonstrations, promotions and presentations that support sales activity.
• Assist with seminars and other internal and external activities designed to grow customer product knowledge and retail proficiency.
• Support Marketing and Sales promotional activities.
• Ensure sales aids and marketing materials are used effectively within salons.
• Keep up to date with competitor activity and relevant market developments.
• Monitor salon sales and contribute towards achieving applicable targets and incentives.
• Complete required activity reports and planners.
• Maintain demonstration stock, training materials, sales aids and promotional equipment in good condition.

Essential requirements

You must have:

• Minimum Matric/Grade 12.
• A certified hairdresser qualification and Trade Test.
• At least three years' experience as a qualified Hairdresser/Stylist.
• A valid Code 8 Driver's Licence.
• A reliable vehicle.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
• Strong communication, presentation and training skills.
• Good selling ability, with a commercial and customer-focused approach.
• A confident, professional and outgoing manner.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence using social media for communication and education.

Desirable requirements

• Relevant experience in a similar salon-industry role would be advantageous.

Location: This is a hybrid field sales position, our Gauteng branch is in Midrand, Johannesburg

Remuneration: Basic salary according to skills and experience, plus incentives, fuel card, and phone allowance
