Retail Sales Assistant / Cashier

JG Electronics is looking for a friendly, energetic and reliable Retail Sales Assistant / Cashier to join our team at our Randburg store.

This is a hands-on retail position for someone who enjoys working with people and is willing to help wherever needed. You will assist walk-in customers, work at the sales counter, process payments, answer telephone calls, pack and merchandise shelves, and help keep the shop organised and running smoothly.

You do not need to be an expert in our products when you start — we will provide product training. We are looking for someone with the right attitude, good people skills and a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

• Welcoming and assisting walk-in customers
• Helping customers find the correct products
• Providing basic product information and advice after training
• Working at the sales counter
• Processing customer purchases and payments
• Operating the till/cashier point
• Answering incoming telephone calls and assisting with general enquiries
• Preparing invoices and assisting with customer orders
• Packing and replenishing shelves
• Receiving, unpacking and displaying stock
• Merchandising products and keeping displays neat and attractive
• Checking product pricing and labels
• Keeping the sales floor, counter and shelving areas clean and organised
• Assisting with stock counts when required
• Helping prepare and pack customer orders
• Directing technical or more complex enquiries to the correct staff member
• Providing friendly and professional customer service
• Assisting other team members with general shop duties when required

Experience

Previous experience in any of the following will be an advantage:

• Retail sales
• Cashier or till operation
• Counter sales
• Customer service
• Merchandising
• Stock control
• Invoicing
• Telephone customer service

Retail experience is preferred, but attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are extremely important to us.

Experience with QuickBooks or similar invoicing/accounting software will be an advantage.

Preference may be given to candidates who live in Randburg or surrounding areas and have reliable transport to and from work.

Pay: R6 000,00 - R9 000,00 per month
