Job description
At ABOUT CATS AND DOGS we are passionate about pets and dedicated to providing the best products and services for our furry friends and their owners.
We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic PERMANENT, full-time Retail Sales Assistant to work at our store in Malmesbury, Korinvlij Shopping Centre to deliver excellent customer service to pet owners.
*Assist customers in finding the right products for their cats and dogs.
*Provide knowledgeable advice on pet care, nutrition, and product selection.
*Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including stocking shelves and arranging displays.
*Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using our POS system.
*Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns with a positive attitude.
*Perform stock-taking duties and ensure accurate inventory counts.
*Place purchase orders and receive stock deliveries.
*Perform administrative tasks.
*Daily cash-ups and banking.
*Stay up-to-date with product knowledge and promotions to assist customers effectively.
*Inventory management, including receiving and organizing stock.
Requirements:
*Passionate about people and pets with a strong understanding of pet care.
*Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred.
*Able to work open-close with little or no supervision.
*Experience in the pet or veterinary industry is highly preferred.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Numerical skills).
*Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
*Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
*Basic administrative skills and familiarity with inventory systems.
*Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
*Must be able to lift and carry multiple pet food bags of up to 20kg.
*Matric with Math Lit on at least a C symbol, or level 3, and preferably Life Science
*Reliable transport
* English and Afrikaans speaking
* Reside within 10km fromKorinvlij Shopping Centre, Malmesbury
* Start date ASAP
*This position is a part-time position of which the hours could vary from 90 hours per month to 195. It is ideal for a single, mature person who is abled bodied and has an impeccable attendance record.
