Retail Shop Supervisor

A poultry meat producer in the Eastern Cape is seeking to hire a Retail Shop supervisor for the Retail shop in East London. A successful candidate will best mach the role and the below criteria;

Education:

Grade 12

Diploma in management

2-3 years managerial experience

1 year stock management experience

Duties:

• Greet customers and provide assistance and ensure staff meet company standards
• Implement and maintain health and hygiene standards as set out by the Health Department
• Manage stock levels and stock control
• Forecast and predict future sales and ensure stock levels correlate
• Manage store revenue, including cash handling, float reconciliation and ensuring money is picked up by cash-in-transit company
• Implement company’s standard operating procedures and ensure it is communicated down to all staff
• Train all staff to do their job well
• Lead, motivate and inspire staff to promote company’s vision and mission, the product and delivery of service quality.
• Recognize and recommend cost-cutting strategies without jeopardizing quality
• Management of all store operational issues, to include store housekeeping, store administrative duties, physical inventories
• Preparation and implementation of work schedules
• Ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the store
• Compile summary of daily sails reports
• Set clear store targets in accordance with Sales Department’s requirements
• Assess the staff using company performance appraisals and job satisfaction surveys
• Resolve customer complaints or problems by determining optimal solutions
• Ensure interior and exterior of store is maintained to company standards
• Utilize labour management tools, including effective scheduling, to maximize productivity, profitability and margins
• Communicate, execute, and manage marketing and merchandising programs for the store
• Conduct regular store meetings
• Ensure employee awareness of safety and emergency procedures
• Maintain adequate store supplies
• Execute and monitor loss prevention and shrink programs.
• Indentify and report service/maintenance needs to Sales Manager and take corrective action
