Solum is a global pioneer in Electronic Shelf Label (ESL) technology and IoT digital retail solutions. As we accelerate our business expansion across South Africa and the wider African region, we are seeking an ambitious, high-performing Retail Solution Sales Manager based in Sandton.

This role will lead large-scale retail digital transformation projects, expand strategic accounts, and drive regional sales growth across ESL, Digital Signage, and IoT retail solutions, primarily targeting supermarkets and hypermarkets.

Key Responsibilities

• Target Achievement: Achieve and exceed assigned annual sales and revenue growth targets.
• Pipeline Management: Build, manage, and maintain a robust, qualified sales pipeline across ESL, Digital Signage, and IoT solutions.
• Account Acquisition: Acquire new Tier-1/Tier-2 supermarket and hypermarket accounts and manage complex multi-store rollouts.
• Full Sales Cycle: Lead the entire sales cycle from prospecting, solution positioning, and RFP responses to contract negotiation and closure.
• Executive Presentations: Deliver value-based presentations to retail C-levels focused on pricing automation, promotion accuracy, operational efficiency (OPEX reduction), and store digitalization.
• Cross-Selling: Cross-sell Digital Signage and IoT retail solutions into existing ESL accounts.
• Channel & SI Management: Develop and manage relationships with System Integrator (SI) partners and channel distributors to fuel regional expansion.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with HQ and technical teams to ensure seamless project delivery and long-term client satisfaction.

Qualifications & Essential Requirements

1. Essential Requirements (Must-Have):

• South African Citizenship (Required).
• Valid Driver’s License & Own Reliable Vehicle (Required for client site visits; Fuel Allowance provided).
• Fluency in English with exceptional communication, executive presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Willingness to travel across South Africa and assigned regional African markets.

2. Industry & Professional Experience:

• 5+ years of proven experience in B2B Retail Technology Sales directly targeting supermarkets, hypermarkets, or major retail chains.
• Preferred Industry Background: Proven track record in one or more of the following sectors:
• ESL (Electronic Shelf Labels) & Retail Automation
• Display / Digital Signage / Commercial Displays
• System Integration (SI) & IT Infrastructure Solutions
• Retail IT & Software (POS, ERP, Inventory Systems)
• Proven capability to close complex, high-value technical/solution sales and collaborate effectively with SI partners and retail buyers.
