Risk Forester

PG Bison, a proudly South African and world class manufacturer of Woodbased decorative panels and associated products, is seeking an experienced Risk Forester to join our dynamic Risk department. The Risk Forester will be responsible for the effective management and coordination of Risk, Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) compliance within forestry operations. The role ensures that all silviculture, harvesting, and related activities are conducted in full compliance with applicable statutory, regulatory, and organizational requirements, while proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks to safeguard employees, contractors, communities, and the environment. The position supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of risk management frameworks and SHE systems. Key functions include conducting inspections and compliance audits, overseeing environmental monitoring and medical surveillance programmes, assisting with incident and accident investigations, and ensuring the timely implementation of corrective actions. The Risk Forester provides professional advisory services to management, prepares and presents compliance and performance reports, and liaises with regulatory authorities, contractors, and local communities to promote safe, sustainable, and legally compliant forestry operations.
