RN – Unit Manager ICU – Cape Town

Qualification & Requirements;

• Degree/Diploma in Nursing Science
• Registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC)
• A qualification in Critical Care Nursing Science will be an advantage
• Minimum 3 year’s Unit Management experience in a private hospital set up
• Sound knowledge and application of relevant ICU policies and procedures
• Excellent communication skills
• Computer proficiency

Key Areas

• Management of the unit
• Promote improved operational performance
• Uphold patient care according to the scope of practice
• Coordinate all secretarial work in the unit, stock and responsible for all stake holders
• Interaction, by subscribing to the highest level of integrity and professionalism
• Engage relevant stakeholders to ensure that operational efficiencies are coordinated to improve patient outcomes
• Administering the departmental budget, and collaborating with doctors to ensure complete care for patients
• Coordinate and ensure skills development and training of all staff
• Direct and support employees daily work activities
• Assist providers and staff and ensure availability of supplies
• Implement relevant information systems such as managed care and patient appointments and ensure accuracy of data
• Manage, support staff, organize and oversee work schedules and assignments to meet operational needs
• Coordinate care delivery, patient flow and clinic check out/discharge activities

Pay: R1,00 - R30 000,00 per month
