Job description
Requirements:
- Diploma in Safety Management, Occupational health and safety or related field
- Proven 5+ Years of experience as a Safety Officer
- Registration with the SACPCMP
- Strong Knowledge of safety legislation, compliance and risk management
- Ability to implement and monitor safety systems across project sites
- Experience in project management is essential
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety management: implement project safety plans, risk assessments, safe work procedures and site safety requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety regulations, provide safety training and guidance to project teams
- Monitor PPE compliance, permits, housekeeping, barricading and controls for high-risk work.
- Prepare safety reports
- investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes and monitor corrective actions to completion
- Conduct safety meeting and awareness activities
- Compliance and Audits
- Risk and incident control: Conduct site inspections, audits and risk assessments
- Maintain accurate record and prepare reports for management
