Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Officer to join our team, who will report to the Safety Manager. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies and procedures to comply with legal requirements and Logistics Industry standards. This position requires a proactive individual who can identify potential hazards, conduct regular safety audits, and promote a culture of safety awareness throughout the organization. By collaborating with various departments, the Safety Officer will help minimize risks, prevent workplace accidents, and provide training to staff. A strong understanding of occupational health and safety regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to analyze and resolve safety issues effectively are essential in this role. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures to meet regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide safety training and awareness programs to employees at all levels.
- Collaborate with management and staff to promote a culture of safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
- Stay updated with industry best practices, health and safety regulations, and implement necessary changes.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Safety Officer or similar role, preferably in the Logistics industry
- In-depth knowledge of safety legislation, regulations, and compliance standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify hazards and implement solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training and collaboration purposes.
- Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to drive safety initiatives.
