Job Title: Safety Officer

Location: Grootgeluk Coal Mine, Lephalale, Limpopo Province

Role Summary:

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Safety Officer to join our mining operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with applicable health and safety legislation, and supporting the implementation of the company’s safety management systems.

Minimum Requirements

· Grade 12 or equivalent

· National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.

· COMSOC 1 and 2 or SAMTRAC

· 3 to 4 years’ experience in the safety management, mining environment

· Knowledge of MHSA and associated regulations

· Valid driver’s license

· Computer literacy in Microsoft Office

Key Responsibilities

· Ensure compliance with the MHSA, regulations and company safety standards.

· Conduct risk assessments, inspections and safety audits.

· Monitor and report on site safety performance and statistics.

· Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.

· Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks and awareness campaigns.

· Implement and monitor safety management systems.

· Maintain accurate safety records and reports.

· Promote a strong safety culture across the site
