Safety Officer

About the Role

Warrior Edge Projects is looking for a qualified and dedicated Safety Officer to join our team within a power station or heavy industry environment. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Occupational Health and Safety, excellent knowledge of industry regulations, and the ability to ensure compliance across all operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce compliance with OHS legislation and company safety policies.
• Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits.
• Identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and follow up on implementation.
• Facilitate safety inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training.
• Prepare safety reports, incident investigations, and maintain documentation.
• Collaborate with supervisors and management to promote a strong safety culture.

Requirements

• National Diploma in Safety Management – essential.
• 1 or more valid Safety Officer Certificates (e.g., SAMTRAC, NEBOSH, SHEMTRAC, etc.).
• Additional OHS short courses (e.g., First Aid, Fire Fighting, Incident Investigation, Legal Liability, HIRA, etc.) – advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a power station or heavy industry environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of OHS Act and applicable safety regulations.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and leadership skills.
