Job description

Purpose:
The ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 Trainer is responsible for delivering high-quality Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OH&S MS) training to clients in accordance with ISO standards, accreditation requirements, and Company quality standards. The role requires a technically competent trainer with practical industry experience who can facilitate learning, conduct assessments and moderations, and support organisations in developing competence in ISO management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate accredited and non-accredited ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 training programmes.
- Prepare training materials, learner guides, assessments, and supporting documentation.
- Conduct learner assessments and moderation activities in line with accreditation requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and accreditation standards.
- Maintain accurate learner records, attendance registers, assessment documentation, and reports.
- Provide technical guidance and support to clients regarding ISO management systems.
- Continuously update technical knowledge to remain aligned with industry developments and legislative requirements.
- Support business development initiatives through technical expertise and client engagement.
Training Facilitation
- Facilitate Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001) training programmes.
- Facilitate Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (ISO 45001) training programmes.
- Deliver training interventions in classroom, virtual, and on-site environments.
- Adapt training methodologies to accommodate different learning styles and audience requirements.
- Ensure learner participation, engagement, and comprehension throughout training sessions.
- Maintain a professional learning environment that promotes knowledge transfer and competence development.
Assessments and Moderation
- Conduct learner assessments in accordance with accreditation requirements and company procedures.
- Evaluate learner portfolios and assessment evidence accurately and fairly.
- Conduct moderation activities where required.
- Provide constructive learner feedback and support learner development.
- Ensure assessment and moderation records are maintained and stored appropriately.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with accreditation body requirements and company quality standards.
- Maintain training documentation and records in accordance with QMS requirements.
- Participate in audits, verification activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all training activities align with applicable environmental and occupational health and safety legislation.
- Support the development and improvement of learning material and assessment tools.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Provide technical advice relating to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
- Respond to client training and competency development enquiries.
- Represent the organisation professionally at client sites and industry engagements.
- Promote a positive client experience and contribute to customer satisfaction.
Administration and Reporting
- Complete all required training administration accurately and within required timeframes.
- Prepare training reports, assessment reports, and attendance records.
- Maintain training schedules and learner records.
- Submit required documentation to the relevant departments and stakeholders.
- Assist with training planning and coordination activities as required.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Diploma in Safety Management or equivalent qualification.
- Accredited ITIS / Train-the-Trainer qualification.
- Registered Assessor.
- Registered Moderator.
- ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 Lead Auditor qualification will be advantageous.
- Additional ISO Management System qualifications (e.g. ISO 9001) will be advantageous.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years' experience facilitating ISO-related training programmes.
- Minimum 5 years' practical industry experience within Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001) and/or Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (ISO 45001).
- Experience conducting assessments and/or moderation activities.
- Experience in ISO implementation, auditing, or management system development.
- Experience delivering training within corporate, industrial, manufacturing, mining, construction, or similar environments will be advantageous.
- Experience interacting with clients and stakeholders in a professional consulting or training environment.

- Accreditation and compliance requirements relevant to training providers.
- Microsoft 365 applications and digital learning platforms.

Other Requirements:
- Valid driver's licence.
- Own reliable vehicle.
- Travel is a condition of employment.
- Willingness and ability to travel locally, regionally, and nationally, including overnight stays where required.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Proficiency in one or more additional South African official languages will be advantageous.
- Ability to facilitate classroom, virtual, and on-site practical training interventions.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends to meet operational and client requirements.
