Location: Field-Based / Various Residential & Commercial Areas
Reporting To: Sales Supervisor / Sales Manager
1. Position Overview
The Fibre & Telecommunications Promotional Sales Agent is responsible for promoting fibre internet and telecommunications packages on behalf of participating Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and fibre network partners.
The Sales Agent will engage directly with potential customers in residential areas, businesses,
shopping centres, community locations and promotional activations to educate customers about available fibre services and assist them with the sign-up process.
The primary objective is to generate qualified fibre leads and convert them into successful customer activations.
. Key Responsibilities
- Promote available fibre internet packages to potential customers.
- Approach and engage customers professionally through face-to-face sales.
- Explain different fibre packages, speeds, pricing and contract options.
- Identify customers' internet needs and recommend suitable packages.
- Check fibre availability at customers' addresses using approved systems.
- Complete customer applications accurately.
- Capture and submit customer information through the approved sales platform.
- Follow up with customers regarding applications, installations and activations.
- Generate new leads through door-to-door sales, community campaigns and promotional events.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, applications and successful sales.
- Meet or exceed monthly sales and activation targets.
- Build positive relationships with customers and prospective customers.
- Represent the ISP and/or telecommunications partner professionally.
- Keep up to date with available fibre packages, promotions and pricing.
- Provide customers with accurate information and avoid making misleading claims.
- Escalate customer queries or technical issues to the appropriate support team.
- Participate in sales meetings, training sessions and promotional campaigns.
- Adhere to company sales policies, customer-protection requirements and POPIA requirements.
Sales Activities
The Sales Agent may operate through:
- Door-to-door residential sales
- Shopping-centre activations
- Community campaigns
- Street promotions
- Business-to-business prospecting
- Telephonic lead follow-ups
- WhatsApp and digital lead generation
- Referral programmes
- Fibre promotional events
4. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Performance will be measured according to:
- Number of qualified leads generated
- Number of fibre applications submitted
- Number of successful customer activations
- Monthly sales target achievement
- Conversion rate
- Customer follow-up rate
- Quality and accuracy of applications
- Customer satisfaction
- Attendance and participation in campaigns
5. Requirements
Minimum requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric preferred.
- Previous sales, customer service, telecommunications or call-centre experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Confident and outgoing personality.
- Ability to approach and engage new customers.
- Basic computer and smartphone skills.
- Ability to work independently in the field.
- Target-driven and self-motivated.
- Professional appearance and conduct.
- Ability to travel within assigned sales areas.
