SALES AND MARKETING LEARNER (SETA-FUNDED)

Position Title: Sales and Marketing Learner

Reporting To: Branch Manager / Regional Sales Manager

Funding Structure: SETA Grant Funded (Stipend) with a R2,500 monthly Transport Allowance contributed by KAPICO SA

Position Purpose

The Sales and Marketing Learner will undergo a structured, 12-month SETA-accredited Learnership Programme (NQF Level 4/5). This role combines practical, hands-on workplace training at a designated KAPICO SA branch with formal theoretical learning. The primary goal is to gain practical operational experience across sales support, marketing execution, and client management while building a comprehensive Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) for qualification sign-off.

Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities

1. SETA Workplace Learning & Portfolio Management (30%)

• Attend all mandatory classroom/virtual modules conducted by the accredited Skills Development Provider (SDP).
• Complete and submit workplace assignments, logbooks, and Portfolios of Evidence (PoE) within stipulated SETA timeframes.
• Participate actively in mentorship sessions, performance reviews, and workplace assessments with designated branch managers.

2. Sales Support & Administrative Operations (30%)

• Assist the branch sales team with generating customer quotes, processing telephonic inquiries, and updating sales logs.
• Maintain clean customer relationship database records and capture incoming leads for regional Sales Representatives.
• Liaise with branch warehouse and dispatch staff to track client order fulfillment and delivery statuses.
• Assist finance/credit control with basic customer administrative follow-ups where required.

3. Marketing, Promotions & Brand Support (25%)

• Assist with the setup and maintenance of point-of-sale (POS) displays, promotional banners, and product brochures at branch counters.
• Support local trade activations, regional customer open days, and corporate marketing initiatives.
• Monitor regional competitor promotional activities and compile baseline market feedback reports for management.

4. Customer Relationship Management & Counter Support (15%)

• Provide professional, customer-centric assistance to walk-in clients, telephonic buyers, and trade callers.
• Direct specialized technical queries (e.g., tyres, batteries, specialized components) to senior sales personnel.
• Collect customer feedback and log service complaints for escalation to the Branch Manager.

Job Requirements & Candidate Profile

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

• Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate (Matric).
• Passed subjects must include English and Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy.

Eligibility & Criteria:

• South African Citizen with a valid South African ID.
• Unemployed youth aged between 18 and 35 years.
• Clear criminal record.
• Must meet statutory SETA learnership registration criteria.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (additional local language skills advantageous per region).
• Computer Literacy: Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Adaptability & Drive: High eagerness to learn, punctual, self-motivated, and disciplined.
• Interpersonal Skills: Customer-focused attitude with strong team collaboration capabilities.

Remuneration & Working Conditions

• Duration: 12 Months (Fixed-Term Learnership Agreement).
• Base Allowance: SETA-funded monthly learner allowance paid in accordance with the relevant Sectoral Determination.
• Transport Subsidy: R2,500.00 monthly transport allowance provided directly by KAPICO SA (contingent on 100% monthly attendance compliance).

Pay: R1 000,00 - R2 500,00 per month
