Sales and Marketing Officer

Purpose of the Position

The Sales & Marketing Officer is responsible for driving learner recruitment, brand awareness, and revenue growth through effective sales execution and marketing activities. The role focuses on lead generation, client engagement, campaign implementation, and conversion of prospective clients into enrolments or sales.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Execution and Lead Conversion

• Actively generate and convert leads into enrolments or sales.
• Conduct presentations, consultations, and product/service demonstrations.
• Follow up on enquiries and manage the full sales cycle.
• Achieve monthly and annual sales targets and performance KPIs.

Marketing Implementation

• Implement marketing campaigns and promotional activities as directed.
• Support brand awareness initiatives across various channels.
• Assist with content distribution, advertising, and promotional outreach.
• Represent the organisation at events, exhibitions, and activations.

Client Engagement and Relationship Management

• Build and maintain relationships with prospective clients, learners, and stakeholders.
• Provide accurate information on programmes, services, and offerings.
• Handle client queries professionally and ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain a customer-focused and service-driven approach.

Lead Management and CRM

• Capture and manage leads accurately in CRM systems.
• Track client interactions, follow-ups, and conversion progress.
• Maintain updated records of all sales activities.
• Ensure data integrity and consistent reporting.

School and Community Outreach (where applicable)

• Conduct school visits and community outreach programmes.
• Promote programmes to learners, parents, and educators.
• Build partnerships with schools and local stakeholders.
• Support career days, exhibitions, and recruitment drives.

Reporting and Administration

• Provide daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
• Track sales performance, pipelines, and conversion rates.
• Maintain accurate records of activities and outcomes.
• Report market trends and competitor activity to management.

Market Intelligence

• Gather feedback from clients and target markets.
• Identify new business opportunities and growth areas.
• Monitor competitor offerings and market trends.
• Provide input to improve marketing strategies and campaigns.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) required.
• Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Management, or related field will be advantageous.

Experience

• 2–4 years’ experience in sales, marketing, or customer-facing roles.
• Experience in education, training, or recruitment environments will be advantageous.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets preferred.

Knowledge

• Sales principles and customer acquisition processes.
• Marketing and promotional strategies.
• CRM systems and lead management tools.
• Customer service and relationship management.
• Basic understanding of education and training sector (advantageous).
