Sales Consultant – Tyre & Auto Workshop (5-Month Maternity Cover)

Location: Fish Hoek, Cape Town
Contract: Fixed-Term Maternity Cover (August – December 2026)
Salary: R10,000 per month + Performance-Based Commission

We're looking for a confident, organised and customer-focused Sales Consultant to join our busy tyre and auto workshop in Fish Hoek while a valued member of our team is on maternity leave.

About the Role

This is not a cashier position.

As the first point of contact for our customers, you'll play an important role in ensuring every customer receives professional advice and excellent service from the moment they walk through our doors or call us.

You'll prepare quotations, process invoices, recommend suitable products and services, and work closely with our workshop team to ensure every job runs smoothly.

Because every vehicle is different, you'll need to think on your feet, ask the right questions and confidently quote for tyres, parts and mechanical services based on each customer's individual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist walk-in and telephone customers.
• Prepare accurate quotations for tyres, mechanical repairs and related services.
• Process customer invoices using our point-of-sale system.
• Liaise with workshop technicians regarding pricing, bookings and job progress.
• Build strong customer relationships through professional and friendly service.
• Recommend additional products and services where appropriate.
• Achieve monthly sales targets to earn commission.

We're Looking For Someone Who

• Has previous sales experience (automotive industry experience will be an advantage).
• Has a good understanding of tyres, vehicle components and mechanical services (preferred).
• Communicates confidently and enjoys working with customers.
• Is comfortable using computer systems, invoicing software and Microsoft Office.
• Has strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Is organised, reliable and able to perform well under pressure.
• Can work independently while contributing positively to a close-knit team.
• Takes pride in delivering excellent customer service.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must:

• Reside within approximately 15–20 km of Fish Hoek.
• Have reliable own transport to and from work.
• Be available to commit to the full fixed-term contract from August to December 2026.
