Job Title: Sales Associate – Lighting & Electrical
Location: Durban North, KwaZulu-Natal

About Us
The Light Market is one of South Africa's leading suppliers of LED lighting, electrical products, and lighting solutions. We are looking for an energetic, customer-focused Sales Associate to join our Durban branch.
This role is best suited to someone with a strong background in lighting and electrical sales who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and achieving sales targets.
Minimum Requirements
Essential: Previous sales experience within the lighting and electrical industry.
Strong knowledge of LED lighting, electrical products, power supplies, switches, cables, and related products.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Computer literate with experience using point-of-sale or ERP systems.
Ability to prepare quotations and process customer orders accurately.
Well-presented with a professional attitude.
Fluent in English (additional languages advantageous).
Reliable, punctual, and able to work retail hours, including Saturdays.
Valid driver's licence will be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Assist retail, trade, and wholesale customers with product selection and technical advice.
Generate quotations and convert enquiries into sales.
Achieve and exceed monthly sales and gross profit targets.
Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers.
Follow up on quotations and outstanding customer enquiries.
Promote Bing Light and other company product ranges.
Ensure excellent customer service at all times.
Maintain showroom standards, merchandising, and product displays.
Assist with stock control, stock counts, and receiving stock when required.
Process sales accurately through the point-of-sale system.
Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate where necessary.
Work closely with management to identify new sales opportunities.

Confident communicating with retail customers, electricians, contractors, and wholesalers.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment.
Team player with a positive attitude.
Honest, dependable, and committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
Salary : R7500 basic plus 6% comm on GP Target
