Job description
SALARY + BONUS / COMMISSION
Ready to build something from zero in the US staffing and recruitment market? And ready to start work now?
This isn't a role at an established company with a US arm already running. There's no territory to inherit, no existing client base, no playbook sitting in a folder somewhere. It's you, a market that doesn't know we exist yet, and everything that needs building to change that. If that sounds like a headache, this isn't for you. If it sounds like the best part of the job, keep reading.
If you're a sales professional, ideally with staffing or recruitment industry experience, who wants startup conditions with the backing of a company that's already proven itself in the UK, this role with The Marketing Junction offers real ownership from day one.
What you'll do:
You'll be the first sales hire building The Marketing Junction's presence in the US, selling our marketing services into staffing and recruitment agencies from solo recruiters to firms turning over up to $10m. Many of these businesses have never worked with a marketing agency before, some have tried one and been disappointed, so you'll be building trust as well as pipeline, often from a cold start.
You'll run the sales process yourself from first outreach through to close (booking meetings with the senior team), figure out what works because nobody's tested it here yet, and once a client signs you'll hand over to our marketing consultants, designers, copywriters, and SEO specialists to deliver the work.
Expect to wear more than one hat while the US operation is still small. The relationships and referrals you build in year one become the foundation everyone after you builds on.
What you'll need
- Essential: Previous B2B sales experience, ideally selling a service that needed explaining rather than a lower price
- Genuinely comfortable with ambiguity. There's no established playbook, inherited territory, or senior rep to shadow
- Bias toward action. You'll get more done by trying something and adjusting than by waiting for a fully formed strategy
- Understanding of, or genuine interest in learning, how US staffing and recruitment businesses operate commercially
- Self-motivated approach thriving in a remote, autonomous environment with minimal oversight
Nice to have:
- Startup or early-stage company experience, where you built a process rather than followed one
- Staffing or recruitment agency experience, either in sales or on the agency side
About The Marketing Junction
Since 2014, we've been the go-to marketing specialists for the recruitment industry, delivering results-driven campaigns for agencies across the UK. We're now bringing that same expertise to the US market. What sets us apart? We treat every team member, wherever they work from, with the same respect, opportunities, and flexibility. You'll enjoy genuine work-from-anywhere freedom, 32 days paid annual leave, and the autonomy to manage your schedule around your life, not the other way around.
Our clients consistently praise our industry expertise, strategic thinking, and ability to deliver immediate impact without lengthy learning curves. The US operation is being built the same way: lean, fast, and without the layers a bigger company would put in your way.
We need to be honest about what this is. There is no lengthy induction process or training modules. You will be building the US pipeline largely on your own steam from week one, deciding what to try and dropping what doesn't work, without a manual to fall back on. That's not us being disorganised, that's what launching a new market actually looks like. What you will get is real backing: an established company behind you, a support team ready once you land a client, and people who will look after you while you figure this out.
