Job description
Keepnet isn't just scaling, we're redefining human risk and secure behaviour management in cybersecurity.
We've grown year on year, and we're not slowing down. Trusted by global enterprises and high-growth mid-market organisations, we reduce human cyber risk through AI-driven automation and we've just launched Agentic AI to take this to the next level.
Trusted by global brands including Vodafone, Merck, Arriva, and Hershey.
Outbound is how we open the UK market, and we're bringing it in-house. We're hiring a phone-first, results driven Sales Development Representative to run UK outbound: booking qualified meetings with security buyers - CISOs, cybersecurity and security team leads, and IT Security Managers - that convert into real sales pipeline.
This is a fully remote, independent contractor engagement, based in South Africa and working aligned to UK business hours - because that's when UK security buyers pick up the phone.
This is a true front-line seat in a fast moving SaaS scaleup. You'll have the ability to make the function your own with a modern outbound stack, freedom, high trust, autonomy and support as you need it.
Why This Role Matters
You'll sit at the very front of Keepnet's UK growth engine. Every qualified meeting you book becomes the pipeline the business runs on. Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Leadership, you'll identify, engage, qualify security buyers, and act as the first voice of Keepnet in the market: knocking on doors, not waiting for them to open.
This role is ideal for someone who:
- Loves the phone and treats cold calling as a craft - this is a phone first role
- Thinks on their feet to get to the right decision maker to book a meeting
- Is self-motivated and disciplined working fully remotely, without a manager over their shoulder
- Wants to be part of a company in hyper growth, where early contributors are given the opportunity to shape their function for success
What's In It for You
High ownership, high impact
You own your accounts, your outreach, and your meeting number end-to-end, with a sales team that closes what you open.
Competitive rewards
A fixed monthly fee plus a bonus structure that rewards the qualified meetings you book, meaning you share directly in the pipeline you create.
Training and certification - we invest in you
If you have no previous HubSpot experience, we will provide self learning modules, including certification.
A modern outbound stack
You'll work with best-in-class tooling - HubSpot CRM as the single system of record, alongside parallel diallers and sales engagement platforms such as Orum and Nooks - so your time goes into conversations, not admin.
Remote working
Work fully remotely from South Africa, with regular virtual team collaboration, structured enough to keep momentum, flexible enough to do your own best work.
Career acceleration
Join a scaling cybersecurity business where SDR performance is visible and progression follows results, not tenure.
What You'll Do
- Run UK outbound day-to-day: phone-first, multichannel prospecting across phone, email, and LinkedIn into B2B organisations across the UK
- Book Qualified Held Meetings (QHMs) with CISOs, cybersecurity and security team leads, IT Security Managers, and budget-holding decision makers - meetings that actually take place, with the right person, in the right account, with a recorded reason to explore
- Work to clear targets: your first QHM within 30 days of starting, and 10 QHMs per full production month once ramped (your ramp month is excluded), with weekly activity expectations - dials, emails, and unique accounts touched - agreed alongside
- Research your accounts and personalise outreach to decision makers - targeted, relevant touches, not spray-and-pray
- Qualify using the Keepnet SDR Qualification Playbook - lightweight BANT plus MEDDPICC on first calls: probe tooling gaps across phishing, vishing, smishing, and quishing, and assess maturity of their security awareness training program
- Turn "we’re already in contract" into opportunity: Keepnet runs a buy-back program, so you surface the renewal date rather than disqualifying
- Respect the channel: check for existing partner relationships (MSP, MSSP, broker, reseller) before making contact, and escalate rather than guess when an account looks like a partner conflict or an existing customer
- Hand off cleanly: booked meetings passed to Sales within 24 hours, with notes an account executive can actually use - you generate and qualify meetings; negotiating and concluding contracts sits with the Keepnet sales team
- Keep HubSpot as the single system of record: all activity logged, mandatory fields completed, duplicates checked before record creation
- Drive call volume through Orum, Nooks, and similar parallel dialling and sales engagement tools
- Run outreach that is compliant by design: UK GDPR and PECR, TPS and CTPS screening, suppression lists honoured, opt-outs actioned and logged, approved scripts and sequences only
- Feed what you learn back to Sales and Marketing: objections, competitor intelligence, and market signals from real conversations - and help refine the messaging as you go
What You'll Bring
- At least 24 months' outbound SDR or BDR experience in B2B SaaS, ideally cybersecurity and startup or scaleup with evidence of success in similar role
- Genuine comfort with cold calling - this is a phone-first role
- The ability to hold a conversation with a technical security buyer without pretending to be technical
- Multichannel proficiency across phone, email, and LinkedIn
- Familiar with AI tools such as Claude to research accounts, sharpen messaging, and work smarter - used responsibly and within approved guidelines
- Hands-on experience using Orum, Nooks, or similar parallel diallers to drive high daily call volumes and maximise live conversations
- Proactively suggests new tooling and workflows to streamline how we work and become more efficient and successful in the role
- CRM experience and disciplined CRM hygiene - and the willingness to get certified in HubSpot CRM and similar tools where applicable
- Written English strong enough to send unsupervised emails representing the brand
- The self-discipline to deliver from a fully remote setup, on UK business hours
- Proven experience implementing new processes from scratch - building, testing, and refining outbound workflows that others can follow
- The habits that separate good SDRs from great ones: ask a question and then stop talking; record what you learn, including the negative answers
- Skilled at hooking a prospect in the opening seconds and earning the right to keep talking, even when met with an immediate brush-off or attempt to end the call fast
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Experience selling into or alongside MSPs, MSSPs, brokers, or resellers in the security space
- Experience in a first or early SDR seat with limited support around you
- Experience selling into the UK market from a remote seat
- LinkedIn Sales Navigator familiarity
- HubSpot experience
- Cybersecurity experience
