Job description

Sales Development Representative / Appointment Setter – South Africa
$2,000–$4,000 USD OTE

We’re looking for an exceptional Sales Development Representative to join our growing sales team.

We are one of the fastest-growing marketing agencies helping roofing companies across the UK generate more leads and sales.

We’ve grown extremely quickly, and we intend to keep doing the same.

That means this isn’t simply a job where you’ll be booking appointments all day with no real progression. We’re building a serious sales team, and the right person will have the opportunity to grow with the company as we scale.

We’re looking for someone ambitious enough to grow with us.

THE ROLE

This is a high-performance sales role for someone who knows how to have real conversations, build trust quickly and turn interested prospects into qualified sales appointments — and, just as importantly, get those prospects to actually show up.

If you’re looking for an easy appointment-setting job where you read a script, book calls and move on to the next lead, this probably isn’t for you.

If you’re competitive, commercially minded and genuinely good on the phone, keep reading.

You’ll be speaking with warm prospects who have already expressed interest in our services.

Your job is to take that initial interest and turn it into a genuine sales opportunity.

That means:

  • Calling warm leads and having natural, engaging conversations
  • Understanding the prospect, their business and their situation
  • Qualifying prospects before booking them
  • Booking qualified prospects onto sales calls
  • Following up with prospects before their appointment
  • Making sure booked appointments actually SHOW
  • Re-engaging prospects who haven’t booked
  • Handling objections and creating urgency without being pushy
  • Keeping the CRM organised and accurately updated
  • Working closely with our sales team to continuously improve results

We don’t measure success simply by how many appointments you book.

We care about the quality of those appointments and how many actually show up.

A setter who books 30 appointments with a 30% show rate is far less valuable than a setter who books 15 high-quality appointments with an 80%+ show rate.

WHO WE WANT

We’re looking for someone who already understands sales.

You should:

  • Have previous SDR, appointment-setting or sales experience
  • Be extremely confident speaking on the phone
  • Speak fluent, natural English
  • Be able to hold a conversation without sounding like you’re reading a script
  • Be comfortable speaking with business owners and decision-makers
  • Know how to ask good questions and actually listen to the answers
  • Be able to handle objections intelligently
  • Be highly competitive and motivated by results
  • Be organised, reliable and accountable
  • Understand that follow-up is where a huge amount of sales are won
  • Be comfortable working UK business hours

Experience selling marketing, lead generation, SaaS, business services or other high-ticket offers is a big advantage.

UK EXPERIENCE

Our prospects are primarily UK business owners.

Because of this, we strongly prefer candidates who have previously lived in the UK or have extensive experience working with UK customers.

You need to understand how UK prospects communicate and be able to build rapport naturally.

If your English is technically good but you sound unnatural, overly scripted or struggle to understand UK humour and communication style, this won’t be the right role for you.

THE MONEY

Expected earnings: $2,000–$4,000 USD per month.

Your earning potential will be directly linked to your performance.

We’re looking for someone who wants to earn significantly more than the average appointment setter because they’re capable of producing significantly better results.

As the company continues to grow, there will also be opportunities for the right people to take on more responsibility and progress within the sales team.

This isn’t a role where we’re looking for someone to simply clock in and clock out.

We’re looking for someone who wants to become a key part of the sales team and be rewarded accordingly.

APPLICATION PROCESS — READ THIS

EVERY APPLICANT MUST SUBMIT A LOOM VIDEO.

This is not optional.

If your application does not include a Loom video, your application will be ignored.

We will not make exceptions.

Why?

Because this is a sales role where you’ll spend a large part of your day communicating with prospects.

We want to see how you communicate before we spend time interviewing you.

Your CV can tell us where you’ve worked.

Your Loom video tells us whether you can actually communicate.

YOUR LOOM VIDEO

Record a 3–5 minute Loom video and include the link with your application.

Don’t overthink it.

We don’t want a highly edited corporate presentation. We want to see you speaking naturally.

In your video, tell us:

  • Who you are and where you’re currently based
  • Your previous sales / SDR / appointment-setting experience
  • What you’ve sold and who you’ve sold it to
  • Your biggest sales achievements or results
  • Whether you’ve lived in the UK and, if so, for how long
  • Why you think you’d be good at selling to UK business owners
  • How you would handle a prospect saying: “I’m interested, but I need to think about it.”
  • Why you believe you’re better than the average SDR
  • Why you want to join a fast-growing company rather than simply find another job

And here’s the important part:

Don’t read a script.

We want to hear your personality, confidence, communication skills and ability to think on your feet.

Imagine you’re already on a sales call with us.

Be yourself.

A good candidate should be able to make a 3-minute Loom video interesting.

If you can’t sell yourself to us, it’s going to be very difficult to sell our services to someone else.

APPLICATIONS WITHOUT A LOOM VIDEO WILL BE IGNORED.

If you’re genuinely confident that you’re one of the best SDRs in your market, we want to see you prove it.

We’re growing fast.

If you’re good enough, ambitious enough and hungry enough, there’s a lot of room to grow with us.
