Job description
The Role
A leading engineering company specialising in mineral processing technologies and engineered process solutions is seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to join its growing commercial team.
This role is ideal for a technically minded engineer who enjoys building client relationships, identifying process improvement opportunities and providing value-driven engineering solutions to mining clients.
The successful candidate will possess strong technical credibility, excellent communication skills and a consultative sales approach. You should be comfortable engaging with engineers, metallurgists and mine management teams, with the ability to translate technical solutions into commercial value.

Skills and Experience
Industry Experience Required
Applicants must have practical experience within one or more of the following industries:
- Gold Mining
- Mineral Processing
- Hydrometallurgy
- Process Plant Engineering
- Mining Equipment or Process Technology
- EPCM (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management)
Technical Knowledge
Experience in one or more of the following will be highly advantageous:
- Gold recovery processes
- CIL/CIP plants
- Elution and electrowinning
- Thickening and filtration
- Crushing and milling circuits
- Flotation
- Metallurgical process optimisation
- Process plant design
- Capital equipment and engineered process solutions
Other
Minimum Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
- BEng/BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years' experience within the mining and mineral processing industry.
- Previous experience in a Sales Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer, Applications Engineer, Process Engineer or similar technical commercial role.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities within the mining sector.
- Build and maintain relationships with mining houses, EPCM companies and engineering consultants.
- Identify client requirements and recommend suitable engineering solutions.
- Prepare technical proposals, quotations and commercial presentations.
- Conduct technical discussions and presentations with clients.
- Support pilot test work, feasibility studies and project execution where required.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, exhibitions and client meetings.
- Achieve agreed sales and business development targets.
