Sales Engineer

The company currently has a vacant position for a Sales Engineer – Marine and Oil&Gas

Objective of Job

· Drive sales growth in the marine as well Oil and Gas as sectors by identifying opportunities, presenting technical solutions and managing key customer relationships.

· Provide expert engineering support that translate customer requirements into viable Electrical/Mechanical solutions and coordinating with internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Performance Areas & Duties

· Research and networking to identify and develop new opportunities in the marine and oil and gas sector,

· Manage new business opportunities within the Marine and Oil and Gas sectors with shipyards.

· Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and solution proposals to customers, consultants, and OEMs.

· Prepare and present commercial offers, quotations, and bids in accordance with customer requirements and company strategy.

· Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to drive proactive sales strategies.

· The successful candidate will be required to bring in OE sales in all applications with the main focus being Marine.

· Understand customer technical requirements and translate them into appropriate product and system solutions.

· Work closely with engineering and product teams to design and adapt solutions for rail infrastructure and marine applications.

· Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support, including troubleshooting and product training.

· Assist in tender specifications, compliance documentation, and technical submittals.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, including operators, shipyards, system integrators, contractors, and maintenance providers.

· Serve as the primary technical contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.

· Ensure timely response to customer inquiries, technical questions, and commercial negotiations.

· Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, logistics, after-sales, and management) to ensure on-time delivery and project success.

· Participate in project reviews and support installation, commissioning, or field services when required.

Qualifications & Requirements

· Minimum N3 qualification in Electrical/Mechanical engineering or equivalent technical qualification. Diploma or degree in engineering will be and advantage

· 3-7 years of experience in technical sales, application engineering or field engineering environments.

· Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems relevant to onboard marine equipment, marine propulsion, navigation systems or auxiliary systems.

· Good communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

· Proven ability to manage sales cycles, build relationships and negotiate with customers.

· Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

· Ability to communicate in Portuguese will be advantageous.

· Experience/knowledge within the marine industry is ESSENTIAL. Candidates without relevant marine experience/knowledge will not be considered.

· Willing to travel (local and international) for prolonged periods.
