Sales Executive – Mike’s Place Racing

Salary: R15,000 basic salary, with expected earnings of R20,000 – R40,000 per month depending on sales performance and commission earned. For the first three months, the successful candidate will receive a R5,000 monthly subsidy to ensure a minimum monthly income of R20,000 while they build their customer base and sales pipeline.

Mike’s Place Racing is looking for a driven, energetic, and self-motivated Sales Executive to join our team.

This position is not suited to someone who is simply looking to take orders. We are looking for a real salesperson — someone who is hungry to generate leads, close deals, build strong customer relationships, and grow their own income through performance.

The successful candidate does not need to come from the motor trade, although automotive experience will be beneficial. What matters most is that you have strong sales ability, good communication skills, a good level of education, and the drive to succeed in a competitive sales environment.

Mike’s Place has been established for 25 years and has built a strong reputation in the engine, gearbox, and automotive parts industry. The successful candidate will also have the support of an existing sales and marketing team to assist with lead generation and business growth.

Experience Required

The ideal candidate should have at least one of the following:

• Proven sales experience
• A strong sales track record
• Good references confirming strong sales ability, work ethic, and a go-getter attitude
• Experience in customer-facing sales, business development, or lead generation

Experience in the automotive, parts, engine, gearbox, mechanical, or workshop industry will be beneficial, but it is not essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate new sales leads through marketing, networking, follow-ups, and customer contact
• Handle incoming sales enquiries professionally and efficiently
• Convert leads and quotations into sales
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships
• Follow up consistently with clients
• Promote engines, gearboxes, and related automotive products
• Work with the existing sales and marketing team to assist with lead generation and customer growth
• Use social media and other platforms to assist with marketing and lead generation
• Work towards monthly sales targets
• Take ownership of your own sales performance and income growth
