Job Description: Sales Executive
Purpose of the role
The Sales Executive is responsible for growing the company's client base and managing their
portfolio of accounts. The role covers the full sales process, from finding new business and cold
calling through to closing the deal, onboarding the client and managing the account going forward.
This is a hands-on sales role for someone who works independently, and meets their targets.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and New Business
Identify and pursue new business through cold calling, prospecting and networking.
Present and promote the company's services to prospective clients.
Manage the full sales process from first contact through to closing the deal.
Meet agreed sales targets and deadlines.
Client and Account Management
Manage and grow your own portfolio of client accounts.
Act as the main point of contact for your clients and handle their queries.
Oversee the onboarding of new clients together with the operations team.
Build long-term relationships and ensure client retention.
Assist with resolving billing, payment and credit queries on your accounts.
Administration and Reporting
Keep the CRM and sales pipeline accurate and up to date at all times.
Provide regular updates and submit weekly and monthly sales reports.
Prepare quotations and assist with tender submissions.
Coordinate with the operations and estimating teams to ensure accurate quotes and on-time
delivery and are compliant with company policy.
Minimum Requirements
Matric essential. A sales or logistics qualification is an advantage.
Proven sales experience, preferably in freight forwarding, logistics or a related industry.
Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
Computer literate
Skills and Attributes
Strong new-business hunter who is confident with cold calling.
Works independently and manages own targets with minimal supervision.
Good negotiator who can close deals.
Organised, reliable and disciplined with admin and reporting.
Customer-focused with strong communication skills.
Resilient and target-driven.
Performance will be measured on:
New business and revenue against target.
Number of new clients signed and trading.
Client retention on own accounts.
Pipeline and CRM accuracy.
Debtor days on own accounts.
Pay: R25 000,00 - R30 000,00 per month
