Sales & Marketing Manager

We are looking for a driven, energetic and results-focused Sales & Marketing Manager to take ownership of growing our hatchery business.

Your Main Goal

Bring in more customers and increase sales. You will be responsible for creating and executing a practical sales and marketing strategy that generates consistent business.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

· Actively find and approach new customers.

· Build relationships with farmers, smallholders, poultry farmers, backyard poultry keepers, resellers and agricultural businesses.

· Respond quickly to enquiries via WhatsApp, Facebook, phone and other platforms.

· Follow up consistently with potential customers.

· Convert enquiries into confirmed orders.

· Develop repeat customers and long-term relationships.

· Identify new markets and sales opportunities in Nelspruit, surrounding areas and across Mpumalanga.

· Develop relationships with potential business partners and resellers.

· Keep an organized record of leads, customers, enquiries and sales.

Marketing & Promotions

· Plan and run regular promotions to drive sales.

· Develop creative offers around hatch dates, chick availability and seasonal demand.

· Identify where and how our target customers are buying poultry products.

· Develop local marketing initiatives and campaigns.

· Explore partnerships with agricultural stores, feed suppliers, farmers and other relevant businesses.

· Monitor competitors and identify opportunities to differentiate our hatchery.

· Continuously test new ideas to generate more enquiries and sales.

Social Media & Content Creation

· Take ownership of the hatchery's social-media presence.

· Create regular content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and WhatsApp.

· Take quality photos and videos of chicks, hatching, the farm and customers.

· Create professional promotional posters and advertisements using Canva or similar software.

· Write engaging captions and promotional messages.

· Promote available chicks, breeds, prices, hatch dates and specials.

· Experiment with different content and advertising approaches.

· Track what content and promotions generate actual enquiries and sales.

Customer Management

· Maintain a database of existing and potential customers.

· Follow up with previous customers when new chicks become available.

· Develop a system for encouraging repeat purchases.

· Communicate promotions and availability to customers through WhatsApp and other appropriate channels.

· Collect customer feedback and identify opportunities to improve the customer experience.

You should be:

· Highly motivated and sales-driven.

· Confident speaking to customers and businesses.

· Naturally outgoing and comfortable approaching new people.

· Creative and interested in marketing and content creation.

· Proactive and able to work without constant supervision.

· Persistent with customer follow-ups.

· Comfortable using WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

· Able to create professional-looking marketing material using Canva.

· Organized and able to manage leads and customer information.

· Comfortable working independently and taking responsibility.

· Interested in agriculture, poultry or farming.

· Hungry to grow a business and earn based on results.

About the Role

• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a similar position
• Proven track record of driving consumer revenue growth, and sales performance..
• Demonstrated experience developing and executing successful B2C marketing strategies and campaigns.
• Experience managing digital marketing platforms including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, and marketing automation.

Systems and Tools

• CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, or equivalent.
• Marketing automation platforms.
• Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
• Google Ads.
• Meta Business Suite.
• LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
• Power BI or similar reporting platforms.
• Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
• AI-powered productivity, marketing, and content generation tools.

Other

· Driver’s license

· Willingness to travel locally as required.

· Own reliable transport advantageous

· Professional appearance and conduct when representing the organization.

· Strong commercial acumen and customer-focused mindset

Salary

Please note that this is a commission based role with high earning potential (%age based on revenue sales figures. Negotiable)
