SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Are you a proven sales performer who knows how to turn opportunities into revenue? Crickley Dairy is looking for a seasoned, results-driven Sales Representative to join our team in East London. This is not simply a customer service or order-taking role. We are looking for a commercially driven sales professional who is hungry for growth, confident in winning new business, capable of growing existing accounts and understands what it takes to consistently deliver against ambitious sales targets. If you have a strong FMCG background, understand the dynamics of the retail and/or food service environment and have a proven ability to build customer relationships, identify opportunities and deliver substantial revenue growth, we want to hear from you.

Role Purpose:

The Sales Representative will be responsible for driving sales and revenue growth across the assigned territory through the acquisition of new customers, development of existing accounts and effective execution of the company's sales strategy. The successful candidate will take ownership of their territory, identify and convert new business opportunities, grow customer spend and maximise the sales and profitability potential of our dairy product portfolio. You will be expected to operate with a high level of commercial awareness, initiative and accountability, while building strong, long-term relationships with customers.

Role Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric / Equivalent.
• A 3-year Degree or Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Management or a related field will be advantageous.
• Valid Code 08 (B) driver's licence.
• Minimum 3–5 years' proven FMCG sales experience, preferably in a role with direct responsibility for achieving sales targets.
• Dairy or food industry experience will be highly advantageous.
• Proven track record of new business acquisition, account growth and target achievement.
• Experience dealing with retail, wholesale, food service and/or other FMCG customers will be advantageous.
• Strong computer literacy, particularly MS Office and Outlook.
• Strong numerical and analytical ability with excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong negotiation, influencing and persuasion skills.
• Ability to engage confidently with customers and stakeholders at different levels.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of sales and profitability drivers.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and take ownership of results.
• High energy, resilience, initiative and a strong drive to achieve results.

Key Performance Areas:

• Drive aggressive and sustainable revenue growth within the assigned territory.
• Identify, target and acquire new customers and new business opportunities to expand the company's customer base.
• Grow existing customer accounts by identifying opportunities to increase volumes, product penetration and customer spend.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and key decision-makers across different levels.
• Take ownership of the territory sales target and develop effective plans to consistently achieve and exceed targets.
• Identify opportunities within the market and convert them into profitable sales.
• Develop a strong understanding of our dairy product portfolio and effectively communicate the features, benefits and commercial value of our products.
• Conduct regular customer visits and ensure effective territory, route and call planning to maximise sales opportunities.
• Negotiate effectively with customers while protecting company margins and profitability.
• Monitor competitor activity, market trends, pricing and customer behaviour and use this information to identify opportunities and threats.
• Ensure effective execution of promotions, product launches, sampling and other sales initiatives.
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure accurate order processing, stock availability and effective delivery to customers.
• Proactively resolve customer queries and issues to protect relationships and retain business.
• Monitor sales performance, analyse sales data and identify areas for growth and improvement.
• Provide regular sales forecasts, reports and market feedback to management.
• Ensure all sales activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, procedures and applicable legislation.
• Build a strong pipeline of opportunities and maintain consistent focus on new business development and revenue generation.

Pay: R21 000,00 - R21 500,00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

• East London, Eastern Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Education:

• High School (matric) (Preferred)

Experience:

• FMCG/Dairy: 3 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Must be in possession of Code 08 (B) driver’s license (Preferred)
