Sales Representative – Fencing & Security Solutions

About the Role

Our client is a leading provider of fencing, perimeter security and access protection solutions, servicing commercial, industrial, construction and infrastructure projects.

We are looking for self-driven, technically minded Sales Representatives who can identify opportunities, develop relationships and convert projects into sales.

This is not a traditional sales role. The successful candidates will need to understand customer requirements, interpret technical specifications, work with project and tender requirements, and recommend the right solution for each application.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the fencing, security, construction and infrastructure sectors.
• Develop and maintain relationships with construction companies, contractors, developers, architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, project managers and procurement teams.
• Identify upcoming projects and tenders and position the company for potential opportunities.
• Develop and maintain a strong project and sales pipeline.
• Understand customer requirements and translate these into appropriate technical solutions.
• Read, understand and work with product specifications, technical requirements, drawings and tender documentation.
• Learn the company's product range, specifications and applications and confidently present solutions to customers.
• Prepare quotations and proposals in accordance with project requirements.
• Follow up on quotations and actively drive opportunities through to conclusion.
• Attend client meetings, project meetings and site visits where required.
• Work closely with internal technical, estimating and operations teams to ensure solutions meet client requirements.
• Monitor competitor activity, market developments and new business opportunities.
• Maintain accurate CRM and sales records.
• Achieve agreed sales and business development targets.

We are looking for someone who is commercially driven, technically capable and able to sell solutions rather than simply products.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience in sales and business development, preferably within construction, fencing, security, manufacturing, engineering or a related technical industry.
• Experience dealing with projects, tenders and construction-related clients.
• An understanding of technical specifications and the ability to learn and apply product specifications.
• The ability to assess a customer's requirements and tailor a solution accordingly.
• Existing contacts within the construction, infrastructure, engineering, security or property development sectors would be highly advantageous.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong commercial awareness.
• The ability to work independently and manage a sales territory.
• A proactive approach to identifying opportunities rather than waiting for leads.
• A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to clients and project sites.
