Sales Representative – FMCG

About Caterlink

Caterlink is a well-established food distributor supplying restaurants, hotels, schools, retirement homes, caterers, and other hospitality businesses across the Western Cape. Our range includes dry, chilled and frozen food, cleaning supplies, packaging, catering clothing, and kitchen essentials.

The Role

We're looking for a driven Sales Representative to join our team and focus on growing Caterlink's customer base throughout the Cape Town area and surrounds. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys researching prospective customers, building relationships, and converting opportunities into long-term business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify prospective hospitality customers throughout the Cape Town area and surrounds.
  • Prospect through phone calls, emails, and other outreach methods.
  • Arrange and attend meetings with prospective customers.
  • Present Caterlink's products and services to potential clients.
  • Open new customer accounts and guide customers through the onboarding process.
  • Secure initial orders and repeat orders and build long-term customer relationships.
  • Prepare quotations and follow up on enquiries.
  • Represent Caterlink professionally and provide excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle.
  • Minimum 2 years' external sales experience (FMCG preferred).
  • Proven experience in new business development.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated and organized.

Remuneration & Benefits

  • Salary negotiable and dependent on experience.
  • Car allowance provided.
  • Fuel for business travel will be covered.
  • Applicants must have their own reliable vehicle and a valid driver's licence.
