Job description

Area: JHB X2 and Polokwane X1

A Sales Representative at KAPICO South Africa is a frontline revenue-generating role responsible for driving sales growth, managing customer accounts, and expanding market presence across commercial, wholesale, or retail channels (such as automotive aftermarket parts and components). Reporting directly to the Sales Manager or Deputy Sales Manager, the Sales Representative acts as the primary contact for business clients.

Key Responsibilities & Scope

New Business Development- Identifies prospective clients, conducts cold calls, follows up on leads, and secures new commercial accounts within an assigned territory.
Account & Relationship Management- Builds and maintains long-term relationships with existing clients (e.g., workshops, dealerships, fleet operators, regional distributors), ensuring regular contact and high customer satisfaction.
**Product Consultation & Quoting-**Prepares accurate price quotations, assists customers with product specifications and availability, and recommends suitable alternatives when necessary.
**Sales Target Execution-**Works consistently to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales volume and gross profit targets.
Market & Competitor Intelligence- Monitors local market trends, gathers feedback on competitor pricing and product lines, and feeds insights back to management.
Administrative & Order Tracking- Manages order processing, collaborates with warehouse/logistics teams for timely deliveries, and assists finance with credit checks or outstanding account follow-ups.

Typical Job Requirements & Competencies

Experience: 2 to 4 years of proven sales experience, ideally in wholesale distribution, industrial supply, or automotive aftermarket sales.
Core Skills: Strong communication and negotiation abilities, customer-service focus, product knowledge, and basic CRM/ERP software competence.
Drivers License: Valid South African driver's license (frequently required for field-based roles).
Education: Matric / Grade 12 minimum, formal sales or marketing qualifications are advantageous.

Pay: R5 286,33 - R15 000,00 per month
