Sales Representative

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a dynamic, driven, and results-focused External Sales Representative to join our team, based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, and servicing the greater KZN region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the KZN region.
• Actively prospect and convert new customers, expanding market share.
• Promote Company products, solutions, and services to customers.
• Monitor competitor activity and market trends.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships through regular customer visits and account reviews.
• Act as the primary point of contact for allocated customers.
• Resolve customer concerns and ensure ongoing service satisfaction and account retention.
• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and gross profit targets.
• Prepare and follow up on quotations to convert sales.
• Upsell and cross-sell across the Company's product ranges.
• Plan and maintain an effective, structured customer visit and call cycle schedule covering the KZN region.
• Ensure full coverage of the allocated KZN territory and customer base.
• Submit accurate visit reports, activity updates, and customer documentation.
• Maintain strong product knowledge and provide customers with technical guidance and recommendations.
• Liaise with internal technical and sales support teams as required.
• Work closely with Internal Sales, Procurement, Warehouse, Finance, and Technical teams to ensure smooth communication between field and office operations.
• Adhere to all Company policies, procedures, and pricing/credit control structures.

Minimum Requirements

• Previous experience in an External/Field Sales role.
• Experience within the welding, industrial, engineering, hardware, or technical sales environment will be advantageous.
• Own roadworthy, legally compliant, and insured vehicle for business-related travel.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Computer literate.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and customer service orientation.
• Matric certificate (essential).

Advantageous

• Knowledge of welding and cutting equipment/consumables.
• Technical sales background.
• Experience working with distributors or industrial clients.
