Sales Representative

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel within the assigned sales territory.
• Minimum of 3 years' proven sales experience within the aggregates, silica, industrial minerals, construction, mining, or manufacturing industry.
• Sound understanding of aggregate, silica, and related product applications.
• Strong customer relationship management and customer service skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Proven ability to identify new business opportunities and grow existing accounts.
• Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
• Ability to read and interpret customer requirements and specifications.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
• Experience working with CRM systems.
• Ability to work independently and achieve sales targets.
• Strong administrative, reporting, and organisational skills.

Duties:

• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to promote trust, loyalty, and long-term business growth.
• Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
• Generate new leads through prospecting, networking, referrals, and market research.
• Follow up on cold and warm leads to convert opportunities into sales.
• Maintain and grow existing customer accounts.
• Conduct regular customer visits and site inspections.
• Provide technical product knowledge and support to customers.
• Prepare, submit, and follow up on customer quotations in a timely manner.
• Process customer orders and externally sourced purchase orders accurately.
• Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within approved company parameters.
• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets as set by management.
• Coordinate customer requirements with production, logistics, dispatch, and operational teams.
• Resolve customer queries and complaints professionally and efficiently.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments.
• Gather and communicate market intelligence and customer feedback to management.
• Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, and opportunities within the company CRM system.
• Prepare and submit sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates.
• Continuously improve product knowledge and sales skills.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Receive and manage customer enquiries and incoming sales calls.
