Job Description: Salesperson in Bakery Environment

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Salesperson to join our bakery team. As a Salesperson, you will play a crucial role in driving sales and providing exceptional customer service in a bakery environment. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in food industry sales positions and possess a strong knowledge of bakery products, with a particular focus on cake sales.

Responsibilities:

- Provide quotes and pricing information to customers for customised cake designs through various communication channels, including email, phone calls, and in-store consultations.

- Collaborate closely with customers to understand their specific requirements, preferences, and budget for custom cakes, offering creative suggestions and guidance as needed.

- Prepare detailed and accurate quotes, ensuring all customization requests, sizes, flavors, and decorations are included.

- Maintain effective communication with customers throughout the cake ordering process, providing updates on the status of their orders and addressing any inquiries or modifications.

- Coordinate with the bakery team to ensure the timely execution of custom cake orders, adhering to agreed-upon specifications and delivery/pick-up schedules.

- Provide exceptional customer service during in-store consultations, actively listening to customers' ideas, offering expert advice, and assisting with the selection of design elements, flavors, and sizes.

- Maintain comprehensive documentation of custom cake orders, including design sketches, flavor preferences, and any special instructions, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.

- Collaborate with the bakery staff to continuously expand and update the portfolio of cake designs, staying abreast of the latest trends and creative ideas in the cake industry.

Requirements:

- Previous experience in food industry sales positions, preferably in a bakery or related environment.

- Strong knowledge of bakery products, with a particular focus on cakes, their flavors, decoration styles, and customization options.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with customers.

- Proven sales skills, including the ability to identify customer needs, make persuasive recommendations, and close sales.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize effectively.

- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

- Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required in a bakery setting.
