SAP Authorisations Specialist

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced SAP Authorisations Specialist to manage and support SAP Security, user access, role design and authorisation governance within a complex SAP environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring secure, compliant and effective access to SAP systems while supporting business requirements, audit controls and Segregation of Duties (SoD) compliance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

▪ 5–10 years' experience in SAP Security / SAP Authorisations.

▪ Strong hands-on experience with SAP Security.

▪ Proven experience in SAP Role Design and Role Management.

▪ Strong SAP Access Management experience.

▪ Demonstrable experience with Segregation of Duties (SoD) Compliance, analysis and remediation.

▪ Experience with SAP user administration and access provisioning.

▪ Experience supporting SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA environments.

▪ Experience working across multiple SAP modules.

▪ Strong understanding of SAP authorisation concepts and security governance.

▪ Experience supporting SAP audits and compliance requirements.

▪ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

▪ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

▪ Design, build, maintain and optimise SAP security roles and authorisations.

▪ Manage SAP user access, provisioning, role assignments and access reviews.

▪ Analyse and resolve SAP authorisation and access-related issues.

▪ Develop and maintain role concepts aligned with business and security requirements.

▪ Perform Segregation of Duties (SoD) analysis, remediation and risk mitigation.

▪ Ensure SAP access controls comply with internal security policies, governance standards and audit requirements.

▪ Support SAP Security activities across ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments.

▪ Review and maintain role and authorisation objects, including PFCG roles and organisational levels.

▪ Support role redesign and authorisation activities during SAP implementations, upgrades and migrations.

▪ Investigate authorisation errors and perform appropriate trace and root-cause analysis.

▪ Work closely with SAP Functional, Basis, Development, Audit, Risk and Business teams.

▪ Support user access reviews and periodic certification of SAP access.

▪ Maintain appropriate security documentation, procedures and role design documentation.

▪ Support internal and external audits by providing SAP Security and access evidence.

▪ Ensure secure and controlled transport of security-related changes.

▪ Participate in testing, cutover, go-live and post-implementation support where required.

ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

▪ SAP security administration and role design.

▪ Experience with SoD compliance tools and methodologies.

▪ Knowledge of SAP GRC(Governance, Risk, and Compliance) is an advantage.

▪ Familiarity with SAP user and access management processes.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

The ideal candidate will be a Senior SAP Authorisations/Security Specialist with strong hands-on experience in SAP role design, access management and SoD compliance. They must be comfortable working in complex SAP environments and engaging with technical, functional, business, audit and compliance stakeholders.

The candidate should have strong competencies in SAP Security and Authorisations, Role Design and Role Governance, Access Management, User Administration, Segregation of Duties (SoD), SAP S/4HANA Security, SAP GRC and Access Governance, Audit and Compliance, Security Troubleshooting, and Stakeholder Management.

SAP Authorisations/Security certification is mandatory and candidates without the required certification should not be submitted

Pay: From R1 200,00 per hour

Expected hours: 160.0 per week

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Midrand, Gauteng
