School Relationship Manager (Permanent Role)

About the Role

The School Relationship Manager will be the main point of contact with key customers, and overall owner of those customer relationships. Responsible for triaging enquiries and opportunities, whilst maintaining accountability for our key opportunities.

Maintaining a strictly limited portfolio of ‘big ticket’ accounts and target customers, using solution-led marketing techniques to assist OxfordAQA generate new business through discussions with school leaders/business owners, strengthening relationships and closing adoptions. Helping devise and implement key account strategy across the territory.

The School Relationship Manager will report to the Head of International Qualifications. This post is based in Cape Town, at the Goodwood office.

In this role, you will:

Territory performance and marketing strategy:

Responsible for meeting local performance targets in the territory.

Helping to devise and implement specific key account management and account penetration strategies to build business across the territory.

Monitoring market trends and providing regular competitor feedback.

Customer relationship management:

Forming the first point of contact for customers across the territory

Employing ongoing prioritisation to ‘triage’ leads.

Acting as the main point of contact between key clients and internal teams while passing on list-level impact opportunities to inside functions.

Support OxfordAQA’s presence at important regional events and conferences, identifying opportunities and qualifying leads.

Solution-based marketing:

Using solution-led techniques to help OxfordAQA generate new business through high level discussions with school leaders/business owners.

Strengthening relationships and closing adoptions.

Matching whole school issues with whole school solutions

Developing a thorough understanding of key clients' needs and requirements and preparing solutions.

Data and CRM:

Working with School Succes team and Marketing functions to maintain accuracy and quality of CRM database,

Drive customer data collection

Promote effective use of data in all promotional campaigns.

To support the evolution of a data-driven and insight-led culture across the team.

Contribute to finance process improvements and system enhancements.

Support effective utilisation of finance systems and support the risk management process.

About You:

Essential Criteria:

A relevant bachelor’s degree

Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, with experience engaging senior school leaders and decision-makers.

Demonstrable track record of delivering against growth, retention, or customer adoption targets.

Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Experience using CRM systems, managing pipelines, and using data to inform actions and decision-making.

Desirable:

Experience working in the education sector, particularly with schools or education groups.

Knowledge of international qualifications and curriculum.

Experience of consultative or solution-based sales and account management approaches.

Understanding of the Southern African education market.

Experience managing strategic or high-value customer accounts.
